Settlement, disputes, and resolution sources

What happens after a market closes — and how outcomes are verified on TradeBanta.

Beginner · 4 min read

Every market page names the time it closes and the source used to decide the answer, before you ever place a trade.

Closing and resolving

At the close time the market locks and no new trades are accepted. We then check the published source and resolve the market. Winnings are credited to your wallet automatically — there is nothing to claim.

When a market is voided

If the event is cancelled, the source is unavailable, or the outcome cannot be verified, the market is voided and every stake is refunded in full. Voiding is a last resort, not a way to settle a close call.

If you disagree

Open a support ticket with the market link and the evidence you are relying on. Our team re-checks the named source and responds in writing. We do not change a resolution on sentiment — only on the source.
