Last updated: September 9, 2026. This page explains how to delete your TradeBanta account and what happens to your data afterwards. It applies to the TradeBanta website and to the TradeBanta mobile apps.
1. How to request deletion
- In the app or on the web: open Settings → Danger zone → Delete account and confirm.
- If you can no longer sign in: email support@tradebanta.com from the address on your account and we will verify your identity and action the request for you.
2. Before you can delete
Your Naira and US Dollar wallets must be empty, with no open positions and no pending orders. Withdraw or cash out first — deleting an account never releases funds. An account under an active restriction or investigation cannot be deleted until that matter is resolved.
3. What happens, and when
- Immediately: your account is deactivated and signed out, and your profile, posts and comments stop being visible to other people.
- For 30 days: you can change your mind. Just sign in again and the account is fully restored. Nothing is erased during this window.
- After 30 days: deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
4. What is deleted
- Name, email address, phone number, username, avatar and profile details;
- Identity-verification (KYC) data, including BVN and verification results;
- Saved bank accounts, crypto withdrawal addresses and payment details;
- Devices, push-notification tokens and notification preferences;
- Community posts, comments, likes, polls, follows and reports;
- Support tickets, data-export requests and email history.
5. What we keep, and why
- Anonymised financial and compliance records — seven (7) years. Deposits, withdrawals, trades and settlements are retained without personal identifiers because anti-money-laundering, tax and accounting law requires it.
- Security and activity logs — ninety (90) days, after which they age out automatically.
