Last updated: July 13, 2026. This Trading Integrity Policy explains how TradeBanta keeps its markets fair and its Platform safe, and what conduct is prohibited. It supplements the Terms & Conditions and applies to every user.
1. Purpose and Scope
Trust in prices, resolutions and settlement is the foundation of a prediction marketplace. This Policy sets out the standards we apply to detect, prevent and respond to market manipulation, financial crime and abusive conduct on the Platform, and the framework that governs our anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing ("AML/CFT") program.
2. AML/CFT Program
TradeBanta operates a risk-based AML/CFT program aligned with the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and applicable local law. The program includes:
- Customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence based on risk;
- Screening against global sanctions lists (UN, US OFAC, EU, UK HMT and others) and politically-exposed-persons databases at onboarding and continuously thereafter;
- Travel Rule compliance for crypto transfers where required;
- Ongoing transaction monitoring and behavioural analytics;
- Independent testing, staff training, and an appointed compliance officer.
3. KYC Tiers and Enhanced Due Diligence
Users are onboarded at a KYC tier proportionate to the products they use and the volumes they transact. Higher tiers require additional documentation such as proof of address, source of funds or source of wealth. We may apply enhanced due diligence — including live verification calls — to higher-risk profiles, and we may reduce limits or restrict features until diligence is complete.
4. Prohibited Market Conduct
The following activities are prohibited on every TradeBanta market:
- Market manipulation: spoofing, layering, quote stuffing, marking the close, painting the tape and any other conduct intended to create a false or misleading impression of supply, demand or price.
- Wash trading and self-matching: trading with yourself or with an account under common control to inflate volume or influence price.
- Cornering and squeezing: obtaining a dominant position with the intent to distort settlement or force other participants into disadvantageous exits.
- Front-running: trading ahead of information you know is about to move the market, whether obtained internally, from a counterparty, or from an inside source.
- Insider trading: trading on material, non-public information obtained in breach of a duty of confidence — including information from market participants, event organisers, teams, athletes, campaign staff, or regulators.
- Collusion and coordinated activity: agreeing with others to move a market, including via private groups, chats or paid signal services.
- Manipulating resolution: attempting to influence the underlying event, resolution source or a TradeBanta reviewer.
5. Prohibited Account Conduct
- Operating more than one account, sharing an account, or trading through a nominee;
- Identity fraud, using synthetic or stolen identities, or submitting altered documents;
- Using a VPN, proxy, residency-shifting service or any tool designed to circumvent geographic restrictions or sanctions screening;
- Unauthorised bots, scrapers or automated trading against our public interfaces;
- Bonus abuse, referral abuse and other schemes designed to extract promotional value without genuine engagement;
- Any conduct designed to obscure the true source, ownership or destination of funds.
6. Source of Funds and Red Flags
You must be able to demonstrate, on request, the lawful source of the funds you deposit and the wealth those funds derive from. Red flags that may trigger a review include large or rapid movements inconsistent with your profile, use of mixers or high-risk counterparties, structuring below reporting thresholds, and inconsistencies between stated occupation and observed activity.
7. Reporting Suspicious Activity
Transactions or behaviour that raise suspicion are escalated internally and, where required by law, reported to the relevant financial-intelligence unit or regulator. We do not — and are not permitted to — inform users that a suspicious activity report has been filed. Users may report suspected integrity issues to support@tradebanta.com.
8. Enforcement
Where we determine that this Policy has been breached, we may — proportionate to the severity and history of the conduct — take one or more of the following actions:
- Issue a warning or education notice;
- Cancel, unwind or adjust affected trades;
- Restrict access to products, markets or features;
- Suspend or terminate the account, including permanent bans;
- Freeze funds and, where lawful, forfeit gains derived from prohibited conduct;
- Refer the matter to law-enforcement or regulatory authorities.
9. Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action against you was made in error, you may submit an appeal through the Help Center within thirty (30) days of the action. Appeals are reviewed by staff independent of the original decision. We aim to provide a substantive response within fifteen (15) business days.
10. Whistleblowing and Non-Retaliation
Employees, contractors and users who report suspected wrongdoing in good faith are protected from retaliation. Reports may be sent confidentially to support@tradebanta.com. Where the law of your jurisdiction provides a whistleblower channel to a regulator, nothing in our Terms or this Policy limits your right to use it.
11. Contact and Updates
Questions about this Policy, or requests for a copy in an accessible format, can be sent through the Help Center. We review this Policy at least annually and update it when law, product or risk conditions change.
