Prediction markets carry substantial risk. This page summarises the most important risks so you can make an informed decision before you trade on TradeBanta. ## 1. You can lose your entire stake Every prediction contract has two sides. If the outcome you traded does not occur, your position settles to zero and you lose the full amount you staked. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose. Never trade with borrowed funds, rent money, tuition, salary you rely on for basic living, or anyone else's money. ## 2. Prices move quickly Prices on TradeBanta reflect real-time demand from other traders. News, official announcements, weather, injuries and other events can move a market sharply in seconds. Slippage — the difference between the price you expected and the price you got — is normal in fast markets. ## 3. Markets can be illiquid Some markets have thin order books. That means you may not be able to close a position at the price shown, or at all, until more liquidity arrives. Always check depth before sizing a trade. ## 4. Resolution risk TradeBanta resolves markets to the source published on the market page. Sometimes a source is delayed, ambiguous or unavailable. When that happens we resolve to the best available evidence, and in rare cases we may void a market and refund notional. Read the resolution rules on the market page before you trade. ## 5. Technology and connectivity Order entry can be interrupted by device, network or platform outages. We work hard to keep the Platform up, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Have a plan for closing or hedging positions if you lose connectivity. ## 6. Regulatory risk Prediction markets are regulated differently across jurisdictions. Laws can change without notice. If your jurisdiction restricts the products we offer, you must stop trading and cash out. ## 7. Behavioural risk Trading can be emotionally taxing. Chasing losses, revenge trading and trading while tired or intoxicated are among the fastest ways to blow up a wallet. If trading is affecting your mood, sleep, relationships, work or finances, take a break. ## 8. Tools we ship to help - **Deposit limits and cool-downs** — set weekly and monthly caps in Settings → Responsible Trading. - **Session timers** — get nudged after long sessions. - **Self-exclusion** — lock yourself out for 24 hours, 30 days, 6 months or permanently. - **Loss summaries** — see your realised P&L on the Portfolio page before you top up. ## 9.
